The Jersey Shore Relay Marathon will be held on April 18, 2009. THis is the 13th year of the event that benefits Special Olympics. Last year we had 400 teams participate in the 26.2 mile course. In addition we had a few dozen individuals who completed the entire 26.2 Mile Marathon Distance. The course is along the Jersey Shore from Seaside Heights to Asbury Park. After the run we have our now famous post race party inside Convention Hall where we have plenty of refreshments and entertainment in the Hall.

In conjunction with the Relay we also have a 3 Mile Fitnes walk which is ideal for friends and families of runners to participate in while the runners are doing the Relay.

This year we have aded a Half Marathon which we have dubbed the "Asbury PArk Half Marathon". It will be a benefit for Special Olympics and the Children's Tumor Foundation. This Half Marathon will start and finish at Convention Hall and while the course is still being finalized it will certainly be flat and fast and a scenic ocean front in the City by the Sea and surrounding towns.

We have kept the price of these events at a moderate cost - compare to other similar events. So sign your team up.

Use this forum to drop comments, seek out a team or look for team members to round out your team.

Info on the relay is at:

See everyone on April 18, 2009 for this awesome event at the Jersey Shore for a very worth while cause.

Any news on the 1/2 marathon course? I saw the USATF certification came through and did not see a link to the course. Just curious.

Also - is the 1/2 marathon limited a number of runners?
